Star Wars: A Droid's Tale Soundstory (Star Wars)
Published in Hardcover by Golden Books Pub Co Inc (November, 1997)
Authors: John Whitman, Steven D. Anderson, Anthony Daniels, and Golden Books
Average review score:

My son loves this book!!!!
We originally bought this book for our little boy at Toys R Us and he loved it so much that he broke the spine of the book. The soundstory feature makes this a great way to get a very young child more interested in books in general and that takes him/her one step closer to reading. My boy especially likes the page with the cantina band where he can press the buttons and make the different instruments play. If you have a toddler tearing about your house I give this my highest recomendation!

Walt Whitman Bathing: Poems (Illinois Poetry Series)
Published in Paperback by Univ of Illinois Pr (Trd) (September, 1996)
Author: David Wagoner
Average review score:

Simple and Stunning
The power of the word. The poem 'Walt Whitman Bathing' deserves a special Pulitzer Prize alone. Written a simple clauses, the poem is loaded with words that made me stop, think, and read on, again and again. Wagoner's arc in this collection is from childhood to old age. The words stayed the same. The context changed. And this is who we are. Give this book to someone as a gift. Gift. What a beautiful word. Wagoner. Another.

Walt Whitman--The Measure of His Song
Published in Paperback by Holy Cow! Press (June, 1981)
Author: Jim Perlman
Average review score:

Measuring Walt Whitman's influence.
Whitman may be my favorite poet. That bias aside, for those who appreciate Whitman, or for those who simply enjoy Whitman-style poetry, this anthology should not be missed. In roughly 150 letters, essays, and poems collected since the 1855 publication of "Leaves of Grass" through the 1990s, this book measures the influence Whitman has had upon poets including Pound, Eliot, Garcia Lorca, Stevens, William Carlos Williams, Ginsberg, Kerouac, Neruda, Borges, Levertov, Ferlinghetti, Bly, Snyder, Yusef Komunyakaa, and Anayo.

Walt Whitman: An Encyclopedia (Special - Reference)
Published in Library Binding by Garland Publishing (01 August, 1998)
Authors: J. R. Lemaster and Donald D. Kummings
Average review score:

ESSENTIAL FOR THE WHITMAN SCHOLAR AND SCHOOL LIBRARIES
An expensive book but worth every penny. This is not an ordinary encyclopedia written by an in-house staff. The essays are all written by serious Whitman scholars, and they are a pleasure to read--not just sources of information. After you get copies of Kummings' and Giantvalley's bibliographies, this is the book you need. My copy is almost worn out--both by me (I am writing a book on Whitman) and by my students (they are always searching for paper topics). Simply a must for Whitman scholars (and, probably, many scholars of the 19th-century US) and any library that seeks to support work on American literature and culture.

Washington Quarters
Published in Hardcover by Golden Books Pub Co (Adult) (July, 1988)
Author: Whitman
Average review score:

Washington quarter folder volume 2. (1948-1964) by whitman
The Washington quarter coin folder volume 2 (1948-1964 inclusive) by Whitman, is a superb way to collect and showcase your coins. By using the lock-in feature, the coins are kept in place to prevent coin loss. Each coin slot is designated with the year, mint mark (D,P,or S)and the mintage. I particularly like the mintage, since it lets me know just how many quarters were made in one year in relation to another. It's also nice to have a brief history lesson about the Washington quarter in order to give us some appreciation of its heritage.

Who Is a Stranger and What Should I Do? (An Albert Whitman Prairie Book)
Published in Paperback by Concept Books (April, 1993)
Authors: Linda Walvoord Girard, Linda Walvoord Girard, and Abby Levine
Average review score:

Recommended for family, school, and community libraries.
Most children art taught at home and at school not to talk to strangers. In Who Is A Stranger And What Should I Do?, Linda Girard takes the idea further by explaining about "kind" strangers, the stranger who is not a child's friend, strangers in public places, "doorbell" strangers, and others. Girard's practical, well presented text is illustrated with the artwork of Helen Cogancherry to provide young readers ages 6 to 12 with visual reinforcement of sound and sensible narrative. Who Is A Stranger And What Should I Do? is enhanced for the reader with ten "what if" situations and topics for discussion with parents, teachers, and caregivers. Highly recommended for personal, school, and community library child safety collections.
